Video content is a valuable, powerful way to tell your brand’s story, to showcase your product or service and to engage with your target audience. We’re not talking infomercials here, we’re talking about compelling, interesting, and emotionally engaging storytelling that can make your business come to life online - the Eight Engines' motto is simple - to produce content that audiences are excited engage with.
We have crafted a reputation for producing enchanting, cinematic films across a range of genres; from head turning commercials to intimate poetry films, from stunning documentaries to children's content, we have the experience required to tackle any project.
Video done right can make your story unforgettable. Laying the right groundwork is essential to developing a great video. In the early stages of your project we can arrange a project discovery meeting, laying the foundations for success and allowing everyone involved in the project to build a strong and collective understanding of what is required.
During this meeting we can discuss:
- The aims for the project
- The creative direction
- Characters, locations & events that need to be included
- Schedules, milestones & deadlines
- The delivery plan for the film
- Any different aspect ratios you would like for various social media platforms
Following on from the project discovery meeting, we will provide you with a dossier which outlines every aspect of the project for your approval, including:
- A fully broken down budget, detailing all of the costs for the project
- A creative brief outlining the aims of the film
- A detailed shooting schedule
- A deliverable sheet listing all of the technical details of the content we will be providing
Once you have agreed and signed off on the project documents, it's time for the fun part - the film making! This is where our professional crew of director of photography, camera operators, sound engineers, and lighting techs do what they do best - film a great video.
Every project requires a unique approach to production, but everything will have been meticulously planned in earlier stages so the shoot won't contain any surprises.
How much involvement you have in the shoot entirely depends on you. Our standard approach is to act entirely self sufficiently, managing the whole process in-house. However, we always welcome clients to join us on set if you would like to advise on content, assist with interviews, or just to watch the proceedings.
If production is putting all the ingredients together to bake the cake from the recipe developed in pre-production, then post-production is putting the icing on that cake and making it look irresistibly delicious.
During this phase we will complete a full assembly edit and colour grade as well as create any of the below if required:
- Motion graphics
- Special effects
MUSIC & SOUND DESIGN
Alongside the visual post production, our audio team will create a sound design and if required, compose a musical accompaniment, working with you to create the perfect score for the project.
Once we have completed the first draft of the edit we will provide you with a link to our specialist video reviewing platform which will simplify the process of you and your team giving your thoughts on the project.
Once you submit your notes we will amend the film and re-upload it to the reviewing site to give you another chance to pass on your thoughts and ensure that you are 100% satisfied before we complete the project.
Once the project is complete and you are delighted with the result we will provide you with a package of exports with a version of the film specifically tailored to each platform you intend to host the film on. We can also offer reframed versions of the project in different aspect ratios if you are looking to create bespoke exports for specific devices.
