The Open Door

We produced this film alongside The Television Workshop, a charity dedicated to giving children from disadvantaged backgrounds a chance to learn about film and television.

When Tyresse moves to Spring View, a deprived estate in Manchester, his life beings to unravel. Stuck in an unfamiliar and hostile environment Tye beings too withdraw and fears he has inherited his father's temper. A chance meeting with Jordan, the local youth worker begins to change things for Tye and his family.

The Television Workshop is a charity and unique theatre and film linked training initiative with talent over the ability to pay as our driving ethos. We work with 70, 6 - 21 year olds on a weekly basis in Salford training them in performance for both stage and screen. Each year we create and host an industry Film Festival at MediaCityUK and this year we had the absolute pleasure of a collaboration with the wonderful EightEngines.

Both Jack and Tim are lovely! They are consummate professionals with a huge wealth of industry knowledge but most importantly they are really nice guys! They gave so much time and effort to our project, ‘The Open Door’ starring Joe Gill and introducing McKenzie Clarke. From the idea’s conception through to post and then the screening of the Festival itself, not once were we afraid to approach the guys with changes to our script, they role with the changes and are supportive along every step of the way.

They were magic with our young people, taking the time to explain the process and granting some of our over 18s their first professional IMBD credit, behind the scenes. It has been a joy to work with both Jack and Tim, we have already agreed to collaborate again this year. Their positivity and proactivity excites us as to what we will collectively create next! Thank you guys, loved it!
