Project Summary

Hiden Isochema is a world leader in the design and manufacture of gas and vapour sorption instrumentation for research, development and production applications in materials science and related fields.

The challenge was simple to describe but much harder to execute: create a modern, premium company overview film that could communicate decades of scientific expertise, showcase cutting-edge technology, and highlight the people behind the business ... all in under three minutes.

The result was a cinematic brand film designed to support sales conversations, strengthen first impressions online, and help Hiden Isochema stand out at exhibitions and industry events around the world.

The Challenge

Hiden Isochema's existing video content no longer reflected the innovative business it had become.

They needed a modern company overview film that could serve as a flagship brand asset across their website, LinkedIn presence, sales activity and exhibition programme. But there was a challenge.

The company operates within a highly technical scientific field. Their instrumentation supports advanced research and manufacturing processes across industries worldwide. While that's incredibly impressive, translating complex science into something engaging for a broader audience isn't always straightforward.

The risk was creating a film that became overloaded with technical specifications and industry jargon. Instead, the goal was to help audiences quickly understand who Hiden Isochema are, why their work matters, and what makes them different.

At the same time, the film needed to feel premium, modern and visually striking - more aligned with an innovative technology company than a traditional manufacturing business.

The Plan

Before filming began, we worked closely with the Hiden Isochema team to understand their positioning, audience and key messages.

Rather than focusing heavily on product specifications, we built the narrative around the real-world impact of the company's work, the longevity of their instrumentation, and the expertise of the people behind it.

A key decision was to put the team front and centre.

Instead of relying on a traditional voiceover, we created a narrative driven by interviews with key personnel across the business. Using a two-camera interview setup, we captured authentic insights tailored to each individual's expertise, helping the audience connect with the people behind the technology.

Visually, we wanted to create something that felt distinctive.

To achieve this, we developed a cinematic, sci-fi-inspired aesthetic that introduced a sense of intrigue and innovation throughout the film. Products were isolated within each frame, slow-motion cinematography was used to elevate key moments, and saturated blue tones were introduced into the shadows - -drawing inspiration from Hiden Isochema's brand identity while helping the technology stand out on screen.

We also captured hero footage of three flagship products, alongside supporting b-roll of team members throughout the facility. This helped connect the technology to the people responsible for designing, manufacturing and supporting it.

With only a single day available for production, careful planning was essential. A detailed filming schedule ensured every contributor was available when needed, allowing interviews and production footage to be captured efficiently without disrupting day-to-day operations.

The Results

The finished film gave Hiden Isochema something they previously lacked: a modern, professional and engaging way to explain who they are and what they do.

The company overview film is now being used across the website and LinkedIn, helping create a stronger and more consistent first impression for prospective customers.

It has also become a valuable sales and marketing asset, providing the team with a simple way to communicate their expertise, capabilities and values to new audiences.

Looking ahead, the film will play an important role at exhibitions and trade events, helping Hiden Isochema showcase their business in a way that's both accessible and memorable.
