The Challenge
BAM UK & Ireland had just completed a major project at Manchester Airport: the newly updated Terminal 2 departures hall. Their work featured everything from the sleek bag drop kiosks and check-in desks to refined finishes and thoughtful architectural design.
They needed a series of high-quality images that not only documented these spaces but really did them justice, showcasing the scope and polish of their craftsmanship. Oh, and one more thing: it had to happen fast.
With limited access time in a high-security airport environment, every minute mattered. And capturing the project’s scale, style and atmosphere; while also grabbing a few team shots along the way, was no small task.
The Plan
We knew we had one day to pull this off. So our priority was to keep the setup simple, the workflow smooth, and the quality sky-high.
Working closely with photographer Rupert Grimshaw and a lighting assistant, we mapped out a shot list that balanced hero shots of the fittings (like the check-in desks and self-service kiosks) with atmospheric details of the wider design. We also factored in team portraits of the BAM crew who brought the space to life, recognising the people behind the project, not just the project itself.
Rupert handled both photography and grading, ensuring a consistent look across the full suite of images.
The Results
In just one day, we captured a full set of polished, premium stills that hit every angle BAM needed.
From wide architectural shots that showcased the scale and symmetry of the departures hall to close-ups that highlighted the precision of the fittings, every image was crafted to celebrate the space, and the work that made it possible.
The final delivery: 35 beautifully graded, publication-ready images that BAM could use across press, presentations, social channels and internal recognition.
And the best part? Everything ran smoothly, to time, and within budget. Which is exactly how we like it.
