Overview

Polypipe, in partnership with Plumbcenter and a range of UK housebuilders, launched a major circular recycling initiative designed to close the loop on plastic use in construction. The project represents a significant step forward for the industry, demonstrating how collaboration can drive large-scale change. Refresh PR approached Eight Engines to create a film that would do justice to the scale and ambition of the partnership.

Approach

This story deserved more than a standard piece-to-camera video. From the outset, our aim was to create something cinematic, bold and purposeful. To achieve that, we set ourselves clear creative rules.

Every interview was filmed in a different location to reflect the breadth of the collaboration. Pieces to camera were kept short and direct, helping the film feel expansive and authoritative. We shot on cine lenses to deliver a rich, filmic look, ensuring every frame stood on its own as a strong visual image.

Filming took place across three days, covering multiple live sites and facilities. The production design, lighting and composition gave the film a consistent premium aesthetic that matched the importance of the message.

Tone and Structure

The score was central to the storytelling. We chose music that was epic and propulsive to drive the narrative forward and underline the significance of the initiative. The pacing and tone were designed to pull the viewer through the story and reflect the commitment behind it.

Outcome

The finished film captured the partnership’s ambition and positioned Polypipe as a leader in sustainable innovation. It has been used across events, digital campaigns and internal communications to highlight how collaboration can reshape the future of construction.
