The Challenge

Speed Of Sight, founded by Mike Newman, the world’s fastest blind man, provides driving experiences for people with disabilities. The charity creates unforgettable moments of freedom and joy on the track, challenging perceptions of what’s possible.

To help grow their visibility and connect with more sponsors, the charity needed a powerful film that would showcase not just the thrill of the driving, but the emotional and social impact surrounding it. This new project would feature the debut of their latest accessible race cars at a special event in Anglesey, North Wales.

Eight Engines selected this as our 2025 pro bono project, continuing our partnership with Speed Of Sight and building on the success of a previous film created for the charity.

The Plan

The goal was to create a cinematic, emotionally rich film that would resonate with both individual supporters and corporate partners.

The approach focused on:

  • Capturing sweeping, cinematic visuals of the new race cars in action on the Anglesey track
  • Documenting real, in-the-moment reactions from drivers, many of whom are blind or disabled
  • Including emotional perspectives from family members and volunteers, highlighting the ripple effect of each experience
  • Crafting messaging aligned with ESG and CSR objectives to support future partnerships

The entire production was managed and delivered by Eight Engines, ensuring a smooth process for the charity from start to finish.

The Results

The completed film has already become a key piece of communication for Speed Of Sight. It captures the energy, emotion, and inclusivity at the heart of what they do.

Outcomes:

  • The film is now being used in meetings with potential sponsors and shared at fundraising events
  • Interest from corporate partners has increased, with new sponsorship conversations now underway
  • The project supports the charity’s broader goal of securing three new business partnerships within six months
